Disneyland Resort

This first original amusement center will always have a special place in the hearts of Disney fans. Built in 1955 in Anaheim California, Disneyland has two major parks, Disneyland and Disney’s California Adventure Park. Tourists can choose among its three hotel accommodations within the resort itself and splurge on a little shopping at Downtown Disney.

Disney World Resort

The Disney World Resort followed Disneyland in 1971 and is by far the largest and grandest of Disney’s resorts. It has four theme parks, Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom. Its hotel and accommodation options are even more varied than in Disneyland with 20 places to choose from for bookings. These include themed accommodations like the Animal Kingdom Lodge, All-Star Movies Resort, Wilderness Lodge and Caribbean Beach Resort. The property additionally has a shopping center and two water parks.

Tokyo Disney Resort

There are also Disney resorts outside the U.S. The earliest to open in 1983 is located in Tokyo and is foreign owned but licensed by Disney. Park attractions include Tokyo Disneyland and Disney Sea while dining and shopping options can be enjoyed in Ikspiari. Resort accommodations are available in Ambassador Hotel, Disney Sea Hotel Mira Costa and Disneyland Hotel.

Disneyland Paris

This complex opened in 1992 and features Disneyland Park, Golf Disneyland and Walt Disney Studios Park. There are seven themed resort accommodations to choose from and one shopping center dubbed as Disney Village.

Hong Kong Disneyland Resort

This is the most recent resort addition having opened only in 2005. Its two parks are Hong Kong Disneyland and Inspiration Lake Recreation Centre. While in the resort, you can choose to stay at Disney’s Hollywood Hotel and Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel.
